Remember when i said my guitar lesson was more dull than i expected? Well when i was at guitar lessons, my teacher taught me something called bass-note picking. If you don't know what that is, i'll tell you. It's when you pick one of the bass strings (4, 5, or 6) before you play a chord. That being said, it gives the sound a very country\bluegrass sound. I hate country music. There, i said it. No offence to all the people out there who like country music, but i think that all the songs sound the same, or at least are similar.
Bass note picking is, semi-difficult but im never going to play country music anyway. Or am i? Eh probobly not. But my teacher said its a valuble skill to aquire, so i'll be practicing that for a week. Oh by the way, i used to have my dad's friend's guitar, an ovation, but my teacher (We'll call him Mr. K) said i was going to need an electric guitar, so my dad let me have his Stratocaster (spelling?) since he just got a new axe for his birthday.
I recently practiced guitar, and i noticed that the material Mr. K gave to me was incredibly hard. I hit one note per minute, struggling to keep up with the book. Then something caught my eye. Over in the right hand courner, was a diagram instructing how to play a Fm7 chord. I hadn't even bugun to learn this chord. Then i looked up to see i was on lesson forty. I wasn't even close to lesson forty. I chuckled to myself, and then i turned back to lesson 12. It was a relief to play something more my speed. =)
